Description
1799 Silver Dental Traveling Set in red morocco-leather case. Double-hinged tooth powder box fully hallmarked for London 1799 with the maker’s mark of Richard Lockwood. The toothbrush is struck “RL” on the handle for Richard Lockwood. The bristles are mounted in bone. Case is 5.5″ or 14cm in length. No condition issues. Some sets of this this type included a tongue scraper but there is clearly no space for one in this set–see example linked below. Tongue scraping was apparently not to everyone’s taste in the Georgian era.
