Description

Italian probably Bréscia  18th century, Neuro surgical set. This set is contained in its original (32 x 28 x 7 cm) fitted wood case  and lined in green velvet and chamois leather lid, the case with brass hinges and two brass hooks. Present is a complete trepanation set of polished steel tools with turned Ivory handles. Two different trepanning drills included three cutting trephines of different diameters, each with central pin; two head perforator; foliate drill; elevator raspatory; four lenticulars with ivory handle; tripod supporting articulated elevator raspatory; two lenticulars; double supporting articulated elevator with ivory handle; and an Ivory brush. All is original to the set.
