Description
A c1825 amputation saw weith ebony handle . Keith Wilbur ( ANTIQUE MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS: 1987:129) illustrates a near-identical saw that he dates 1790-1840–see last image. Overall in very good condtion, noting some darkening of the steel and staining of ebony–see images. Hard to pin down the country of origin as near-identical saws were produced in Europe, the UK and the USA.
