Description
From the left:
The 1889 Tiemann Armamentarium ( page 4654, fig. 3304) shows this model and describes it as “Tiemann & Co’s New Need;e forceps (adapted for Hagedorn Needles).” However it was patented by F.A. Stohlmann in 1886 , patent number 349,and presumably this patent was subsequently assigned to Tiemann. It is marked :”TIEMANN” and “PATENT APPLIED FOR”, so presumably Tiemann was selling it before Stohlmann received his patent. $295.00
Reiner’s needle holder was introduced prior to 1892 but we have not been able to establish precisely when. The 1892 Charles Reiner & Son catalog illustrates an example, $250.00
Stevens & Son forceps with an olive-shaped ebony handle. The spring is partially broken and thus the instrument will not lock. $100.00
Tiemann C1900 Aseptic Needle Holder. $125.00
Laid horizontal: A C1900 Mathieu pattern needle holder. It came in three sizes. This 8″ size is the largest. $150.00
