Description

Four 19th-century tourniquets. Numbers correspond to those in lower left of the images.
1) A Civil-War era U.S. Army type field tourniquet. $195.00
2) A C1850-60 Petit-type spiral tourniquet by Evans of London. SOLD
3) A late-19th century tourniquet encased in a nickel-plate cylinder. There is a release button on the side that can be seen in the group image. The geared knob on top of the cylinder serves to retract the tape after use. Unidentifed  trademark struck on base of cylinder. $125.00
4) A classic C1840-60 Charriere-type tourniquet. A very handsome mid-19th century French tourniquet. Alfred Schett in his VOM KNEBELTOURNIQUET zum KAUTSCHUKSCHLAUCH (1990: 30) illustrates an identical tourniquet that he attributes to Charriere. $295.00
