Description
SOLD – This telescope measures 52.75 inches (134 cms ) with the single draw tube closed.
The tapered wooden barrel is free of cracks or splits.
It has a main lens of 2.75 ” ( 9.5 cms).
The single, fully retractable draw tube is engraved, ‘For Day Objects’.
With lens cap and dust cover to the eye-piece. The telescope is damage free and gives excellent, clear views.
This telescope is not too heavy but is rather cumbersome to be personally held by the user for any length of time. It was probably used for whaling and used on board a ship supported by a harness or possibly a tripod.
It is almost identcal to a similar size telescope by Dollond which I also have for sale.
