Description

A very fine and unusual chart or map proportionnal dividers made in brass and steel with four curved points, certainly used in mapping or cartography.

The instrument is not signed, but certainly French, circa 1800-1820.

The two arms are only one scale divided from 1/2 to 1/12. 

The instrument measures 17cm lenght and the case in green morroco lined in green silk and velvet measures 18x4cm.

Unusual and in excellent and genuine condition.
