Description

Brass equatorial ring signed “I Sisson fecit”.

On the signature side the outer ring is graduated 90 – 0 – 80 degrees. The inner ring (horary circle) is graduated I – XII twice in Roman numbers with graduations that extend into the circle.

In the centre is a bridge indicating on one side the calendar months and on the other side a zodiacal scale (with signs) and the declination of the sun. In the centre is the mobile cursor with two holes. The equinox is on March 10.

On the other side the outer ring is graduated with a scale from 0 to 90, the inner circle is not graduated.

The whole is set in a brass circle held by a screw in the lower part and with a suspension ring in the upper part.

Size: diameter 17.5 cm x total height 22 cm.
