Description
A good brass, octagonal compass/sundial in it’s original black card case c.1800
French with 50% silvering of the compass dial, needle points North (30 degree offset for deviation). Four hour scales in both Roman and Arabic styles. Folding bird gnomen is adjustable from 40-60 degrees North latitude. Ten cities and their latitudes on the reverse (including Quebec, Canada). Well used (little original lacquer left) but NOT abused.
