P.O.A.

C1920 Jaquet Polygraph AKA: lie detector)

Circa

1920

Country of manufacture

Switzerland

Categories: Medicine, Diagnostics

Description

A fine and complete example of Jaquet’s polygraph, with the clockwork mechanism in working condition. A scarce instrument but near-impossible to find an example in so complete a state. The Swiss firm, Jaquet, was known for high quality of  its instruments. Though not promoted as such by Jaquet, there seem to be little reason to doubt that it could also function as a sphygmograph. See the pages from a 1925 Boulitte catalogue that we’ve attached. Though a bit simpler than the Jaquet, the Boulitte operated with essentially the same mechanism. All in good order, noting that the bale handle is missing from the case. Please make sure to review all 15 images.
