Description
Cased J.B. Dancer Microscope. This microscope has a few accessories stored in the case including stage mounted forceps holder, small round case containing some compound, objective marked “J.B. Dancer Manchester 2 INCH”, a slide and a substage mounted rotating diaphragm. The objective mounted on the microscope is marked: “J.B. Dancer Manchester 1/4”. Coarse and fine focusing work smoothly and double-sided mirror is in good condition with each side possessing some crazing. The stage moves smoothly in both X and Y direction, although the X direction is smoother than the Y direction. The microscope stands 14” (35.5 cm) at minimum height. The case dimensions are: 15.5” (39.3 cm) tall, 6.75” (17.1 cm) wide and 6” (15.2 cm) deep. Case is in fair condition due to some tape residue on the outside of the front and back of the case, as well as the lower part of the door missing. Both are shown in an image attached to this listing. The case has a key and though the lock works, the door does not actually latch since the wood door appears to have shrunk a little and so the lock does not come out far enough to latch the door to the case.
