Description
In the 19th-century medical and dental firms often displayed their wares at the various “Great Exhibitions” held in the UK and Europe. To impress visitors with the quality of their work, display instruments were produced to a very high standard, often employing materials such as ivory, silver and gold. The finish on these instruments was also superb. What we are offering is a very fine exhibition-grade c1870 dental elevator, with a finely-finished ebony handle and a vermeil, (aka: gold-plate) end cap. Length: 6″ or 15.5cm. The Parisian maker, Collin et Cie, were successors to Charriere.
