A fine and near complete screw barrel microscope c. 1780 with a near complete array of accessories including 6 individual lenses (4 capped, 2 uncovered-low power) and the unusual addition of a 4 lens turret for quick change magnification of specimens. 3 of 4 numbered bone sliders as well as the usual accessories and a hand held b/w paddle for flora and fauna gross samples. Unsigned.
The near perfect black sharkskin case (small compression fracture to lid) has both eared hooks and riveted hinges. It measures 15 x 10 x 4 cm. ( 6 x 4 x 1 3/4 inches).
