Description
A fine combination material pocket telescope by C. W. Dixey c.1850. Constructed of baleen and electrum metal/German silver, this instrument has seen little use and is in perfect cosmetic and optical condition. 7/8 inch OG, 16 inches long, extended, wonderful knurling with a baleen outer coating. Great optics. Collapses to 4 inches. 6 draws. No case. Signed in flowing script “C. W. Dixey, Optician to the Queen, New Bond Str. London”. Sliding cover to eyepiece and OG glass removeable cap.
