Description

A rare form of an Early anti masturbation device for young male, datable from the late 18th Century and certainly French. This rare device was made in silvered brass and it is in genuine and complete condition. The model also preserves its original padlock with its key. This from has a very rare piece sliding to free the penis of the little boy.

This metal device is one of a number of similar devices which were invented in the 18th centuries to prevent masturbation. A leather strap which would have kept it in place is now missing. Until the early 1900s, many people regarded masturbation as harmful to a person’s health, and it was blamed for a variety of ailments, including insanity. It comes with a standard which is made later on. Measures 11,5 x 9,3 cm. Museum piece.
