Description

A good Keuffel and Esser Co., New York, USA pocket compass with original glass, 4 cardinal points (fleur-de-lis for North) on silvered plate with an outer silvered and raised ring in four, 90 degree quadrants. Some corrosion on the needle and needle locking bar but still points North on it’s jewelled pivot. Secure latch and hinge. Scribe line on inner lid for sighting. Mahogany case measures 3 3/4 inches square by one inch in thickness. c.1900.
