Description

SOLD – A rare set of brass Irish gunner’s calipers, signed in script, ‘Spear, 23 Capel St, Dublin. Inst. Maker to His Majesty’s Ordnance’. With various engraved scales including ‘IRON GUNS, Proof, Service’; ‘BRASS GUNS’, Proof, Service’; ‘Inches’, ‘Guns’ etc.

They measure 6 inches long from the centre of the hinge.

Very nice, original condition.

Richard Spear (1) worked from 1791 – 1814 and is recorded at 23 Capel St from 1793 – 1809.
