Description
A 19th century two draw marine telescope signed, ‘Dobson & Baker, Chiswell St, London’.
There were several Dobsons working between 1822 – 1866. This was probably made as a display piece as there is a large engraving to the collar reading, ‘Improved Day or Night’.
Fully extended the telescope measures 38″ (96 cm) and when closed 16″ (40 cm). Each end has a sliding protective cover.
There is a spare eye-piece which gives powers of 12 and 18 x.
In very nice condition giving a fine sharp image when viewing.
Damage free.
