Description

A rare model of an obstetric perforator after Mauriceau, unsigned, but 18th century.

This instrument is described in the Encyclopedia as a “Lance for piercing the head of the fetus in the womb.”

Octagonal ebony handle (two slots) and steel body.

The instrument measures 26.5 cm in length.
