Description

SOLD – A good collection of old microscope accessories including a Beck-Sorby Microspectroscope engraved, ‘R & J Beck, 31 Cornhill, London. 27’. A stack of prisms with pivoted glass lens (camera lucida?), 6.5 inch fish plate, a small mahogany case holding a small glass trough, 3 glass slides (one broken) with small holes of various sizes and three similar brass ones, all with locating dowels which fix to the small compressors in the lid, with additional small glass slides in tissue paper. I believe this to be some form of diatom slide making kit.

Also a small booklet of 16 thin card pages with numbered descriptive text, head-lined ‘Descriptive Type Plates’, cataloging various available diatoms and their types, the page edges finished in gold leaf, the last page ending ‘Januar 1869. J.D. Moller, Praparator’. 19.5 x 13 cm.
