Description
An obstetric set by G. Maw of circa 1840. The instruments are made of steel and ebony, comprising a combined crotchet and blunt hook, an Oldham’s early pattern perforator, a Lowndes’ folding vectis or lever, a silver catheter with stilet by George Cowie, London, 1860, and a later pair of scissors, set incomplete, contained in a fitted, velvet-lined, mahogany case (in poor condition).
