Description

A small pocket microscope, the column engraved, ‘Banks, 440 Strand, London. Inv’t. 903’. The stage is moved up the column via the rack wheel. The glass to the stage is cracked. The mahogany case measures 4″ x 2.5″ approx.

Robert Bancks (also known as Banks) worked at 440 Strand from 1795 – 1804.
