Description
A very nice single draw, taper barrel, nickel silver presentation telescope by Voigtlander & Son.
Engraved, ‘Voigtlander & Sohn, Wien, Braunschweig’. Also engraved, ‘Presented to Captain John Panter Hassall, P. & O. S.S. Australia by the Officers 3rd Battalion, Grenadier Guards. Suakin. March 11th 1885’.
The telescope measures 62 cm closed and has a main lens aperture of 5.8 cm.
No dents or cracks. The telescope comes to focus very smoothly.
Contained in mahogany case (small piece broken off underneath).
