Description
A very rare preserved copy of this very fragile advertising leaflet promoting the “New Cosmograph” invented by the watchmaker Pierre-Léon Girod, based in Morbier in the Jura region, and of which there are models manufactured by Ducretet (see the last photograph showing an illustration from the 1893 Ducretet-Lejeune catalog). For a well-documented copy, see the copy held at the Cabreba Pinto Museum in the Canary Islands. This advertisement was specially printed by the Procure Générale, located at 27 rue Oudinot in Paris, but it appears that this advertising leaflet for the Girod cosmograph is found under the names of other booksellers, sellers of scientific instruments or educational materials.
Good condition.
