Description
Rare microscope signed “Weickert, Leipzig”, early 19th Century.
The box is missing but the microscope is in good conditions.
“[…] This manufacturer is Johann Dankgott Weickert (1751/52 – 1816). JD Weickert was a university mechanic and optician in Leipzig and, as Reinthaler’s successor, produced some scientific instruments himself in addition to his main work – the maintenance and repair of instruments. Otherwise, in the literature known to me, there is neither a photograph of a microscope, nor of any other instrument, nor a description of any device by Weickert.”

Eppursimuove
Eppursimuove is located in the northwest of Italy. I deal with antique scientific instruments and their history. This passion has turned into a profession that leads me every day in search of ancient instruments that helped us to observe, measure, explore and know the sky and the earth. They still amaze and make us wonder, as they did for their original makers and users. For this reason they must be preserved and collected. Please feel free contact me if you need more information on listed items. Thanks.
