Description
SOLD – A good silver monocular, signed on the eye-piece, ‘Gilbert & Wright, London’. The single draw tube is fully retractable. It measures 2.75 inches long (7 cm) when closed with a diameter to the barrel of 1.5 inches (38 mm). It comes to focus at 4 inches. The object glass has a diameter of 35 mm.
There are no dents, there is no wear to the silver – a fine example. The draw tube works perfectly. Optically excellent.
Gilbert & Wright worked from 1790 – 1792 and then from 1802 – 1805.
