Rare gunners caliper by Jesse Ramsden finely engraved with scales for ‘The Weight of Powder that will Fill the Chamber of Brass Mortars’ and marked out in inches for ‘Mortars’ etc to the left ‘D of Shell’ over ‘Land’, ‘Sea’ on one side, and ‘Brass Guns’ over ‘Proof Service’ and ‘Iron Guns’ over ‘Proof Service’ on the other, hinged from ‘01’ to ‘180’ degrees and from ‘0’ to ’10 Inches’, the latter with engraved hand indicator.
