Transitional Jones Most Improved Microscope C 1860.  No case or accessories other than what are pictured on the microscope and maker is not known.    I have no information on this microscope from my dad’s collection.  If the microscope is inclined too much or not at all, the base is not steady, and the microscope will topple over.  The dual sided mirror is in great condition and the stage focusing works.  The screw that holds the body tube from sliding in and out is missing (shown in image).  There is a screw that was taped to the base, but it does not fit in that hole.   In addition, a stage mounted forceps mount is there on the stage, but no forceps.  The substage mounted variable condenser works and slides on the limb when thumb screw is loosened, but it does not slide up and down freely.  Microscope measures 18” tall (45.7 cm) with the microscope at the shown incline angle.
