Description
SOLD – The larger telescope has six draws and is signed, ‘Paetz & Flohr, Berlin’. It opens up to a length of 36″ (91 cm) and 8.75″ (22 cm) when closed. The main lens has a diameter of 48mm giving a magnification of 40x with a clear sharp image. This is quite a rare telescope, the company produced instruments around the mid 19th century.
The other telescope is a three draw, signed, ‘W. Harrison & Co, 50 Holborn, London & at Hamburg’. The body has a gold decorated pattern on a black background. Extended it measures 26.75″ (73 cm) and closed, 9.25″ (23cm). The main lens is 40mm diameter. It gives a magnification of 16x.
Both telescopes have end caps and eye sliders and both are in very good condition.
Contained in mahogany case.
