Description
A fine and complete unsigned, botanical, simple pocket microscope in ebony bound mahogany case c.1830 (in the style of Bate).
Comprised of a round brass pillar with a 1 inch single sided mirror (no loss of silvering), 1 1/2 inch removeable round stage with staging ring below for sliders and inset for B/W disc and/or live box. Three interchangeable lenses (clear) to be used individually or stacked and can swing into or out of the optical axis. Accessories include the aforementioned plus stage forceps with B/W specimen tip and blued steel tines, hand forceps and three numbered bone sliders. The 5 x 3 1/2 x 1 inch ebony edged mahogany case has a central brass ferrule and brown velvet lid liner with both hooks and hinges intact.
