Description
Although unsigned, the brasswork is of the highest quality and the design is most unusual. Certainly early Victorian (royal blue velvet liner), this internally case mounted simple botanical microscope has no provision for a compound body tube. It does however boast two sets of sliders ( 3 wooden and 3 in bone), excellent 1 inch single sided mirror, pristine rack and pinion focussing, B/W stage disc, swivelling brass stage insert for sliders and disc, and three objectives (incomplete-working on it). The brass ferrule is internal to the mahogany case which measures 20 x 10 x 4 cm. deep with original lock, key and blank name plate to lid.
