Victorian rolled gold lorgnette, later adapted to become a pince nez.
When the ball on the handle is slid back, the spring opens the lorgnette to full extension to function as a pair of hand held eye glasses.
When opened by hand against the spring, the lorgnette functions as pince nez spectacles. Grooves on inside of each lens frame to form nose grips.
Hand engraved decoration throughout.
Small repair to the box mount of the lens, completely sound (see photos), otherwise in very good condition, strong springs, opens and closes easily, no chips or cracks on lenses.
