An exceptional cased graphometer by Chapotot dating to circa 1680-1700. Features exquisitely engraved gargoyle figures with eagle wings, serpentine necks and dog heads surrounded by pierced floral vine work and architectural volutes. A fine compass is engraved with the cardinal directions, fleur de lys north directional, and a frame of acanthus leaves. An antique dental pelican with two rounded fulcrums/cushions with straight clawed levers.  This is a fine example of a scarce antique tooth extracting pelican. A French pewter leech carrier, (Pot Sangsues), probably1786. The doctors used this carrier by the patient rounds. The lid is perforated so as to allow the leeches to breathe.
