An intriguing and splendid piece of high quality steel datable from the second half of the 18th century preserved in its shaped case made in green morocco with small gilded decoration. A set of dilators by Gudendag Frères of Paris of circa 1890. This firm was specialized in medical instruments and called themselves suppliers of hospitals. They held office at rue de Odéon 19 in Paris as they state in an advertisement in Annales de Dermatologie et de Syphiligraphie. This book was published by Elsevier in 1888. 1870’s French chain saw by Collin & CIE. Gold plated with serrated link chain adjustable via two screws to main frame, two ebony handles one fixed the other with rotation. The ebony handle is made similar to another divice in the Wellcome collection, therefore this chain saw is dated 1870.
