1799 Lord Spencer created First Lord of the Admiralty bronze medal.
Obverse: uniformed portrait, ‘EARL SPENCER FIRST APPOINTED MAR 2, 1795’ (below).
Reverse: figure of Fame, standing beside an anchor and a rudder, ‘DECORI DECUS ADDIT AVITO’ around with ‘UNDER WISE COUNSELS THE BRITISH NAVY TRIUMPHS. MDCCXCIX’.
Weight 27.84g. Diameter 38mm.
