Description

An early case of lancets for blooletting, France, early 18th century.

The little case measures 8×2,5cm built in shagreen and silver.

It contains six lancets :

-Two original lancers in tortoiseshell with the mark “crowned spade” (could bu Guillaume Vigneon, active from 1681 but we know several other French cuttler with the mark “Ace of Spades” actrive in the 17th and 18th century : François Pommier from the late 17th century and Jacques Travers from the beginning of 18th century).

-Three later lancet of which two are in horns and one in tortoiseshell

-An a very rare and special toitoiseshell lancet by Capron but with a gilded knife. I never seen another one before.

The instruments are in general good condition.
