Description

A large, late Victorian, brass theodolite engraved on one of the upright ‘A’ frames, ‘Casartelli, Manchester’. It stands 14 inches high on the the wooden plinth, the vertical plate has a diameter of 5.5″ and the horizontal plate 6.5″. The compass dial is 3.5″.
The instrument stands on a four screw adjustable base and there are various bubble levels, all intact. The telescope gives a clear inverted image with intact cross-hairs.
Contained in large mahogany case.
