Description

A very large boxwood and brass compass clinometer / inclinometer, signed on the back plate, ‘Francis Barker & Son, Manufacturers. Inventor & Patentee George Francis, C.S. George’. It measures 7.75 inches  (19.5 cm) when closed folding out to 12 inches (30.5 cm). The compass dial measures 7.5 cm with jewelled needle and locking bar.
