Description

A very large boxwood and brass compass clinometer / inclinometer, signed on the back plate, ‘Francis Barker & Son, Manufacturers. Inventor & Patentee George Francis, C.S. George’. It measures 7.75 inches  (19.5 cm) when closed folding out to 12 inches (30.5 cm). The compass dial measures 7.5 cm with jewelled needle and locking bar. With various engraved scales to the boxwood, three pairs of folding sights, three inset bubble levels and engraved scale to the lower brass hinge
