Description
Quite large: English, c.1840, engraved, ‘Greater Magnification, Dollond’ to the first (pancratic) draw tube, ‘Greater Magnifier, Day or Night’ to the second drawer tube, and, ‘IMPROVED TELESCOPE’ in large letters around the top collar, with black later stained body, shade and both sliding lens covers, extended length 109cm, collapsed length 39cm.
The first draw is in a fixed position for normal viewing. It can then be turned and pulled from the second draw for greater magnification.
