Description
A simple botanist’s hand microscope, France, circa 1850.
The instrument is not signed. It is made of turned blackened wood and brass.
It measures 4 inches in length and 1 inch in diameter. Despite a small accident on the handle, the microscope is in good original condition.
Its optics has two biconvex lenses giving high magnification when the plant, or transparent object, is placed against the second, larger lens.
It gives an excellent image.
