Description

A good cased set of Watson centerable objectives in original mahogany case with two large English hooks measuring 12 x 11 x 4 cm.

To be used with any petrographic/petrological or polarising model c.1900 and consisting of the following:

1) Parachromatic 2/7 covered and 4/10 uncovered (short black)

2) 1/2 inch brass  (unmarked but Watson)                             

 3) 1 inch brass     

 4)  para 1/7 inch oil (black)

  5)   1/6 inch brass (Oehler type)

  6)   “versalic” 1/12 oil (black)   

All Watson and Son, London with flanges only used on an English model with the appropriate nosepiece adapter.

I also have professional Oehler type objectives (with or without slotted and tapering, bevelled centering flanges) and eyepieces by Watson who according to their 1896  and 1906 catalogues purchased objectives from Zeiss, Leitz, Powell and Lealand and Reichert.
