Description
A rare voltaic-electric brush based on the design of Professor Hoffmann of Berlin, bearing the Berlin maker’s mark “Engeler & Sohn in Berlin.”
The brush is in fine condition and complete with its two copper plates.
This type of brush was used to deliver an electric current continuously and evenly across the skin via hundreds of metal wires, which in this instance are surrounded by soft bristles.
Wood, brass, and copper.
