Description

SOLD – A nickel silver presentation pocket compass, the mother or pearl dial is signed, ‘H. Hughes & Son, 59 Fenchurch St, London’, with centrally jewelled dial. The pin to the top locks the dial in position.

The back of the compass is finely engraved, ‘Thames Nautical Training College HMS Worcester. PORT OF LONDON. PRIZE. Given by W.M. Bullivant Esq. FOR THE BEST WORKING & SPLICING OF WIRE ROPE. John Gaunt. Midsummer 1884′.
