Description
Nickel-plated brass optometer, circa 1900 Conceived around 1870 by W.H. Wollaston Patent applied for around 1875.
This was used to help determine the power of glasses a person would require.
The sliding disc has graduated dots and says, “Count the dots”.
The main bar has scales for concave and convex.
In very good sound condition and good working order, some scratches to the lens not visible in use, replaced screw in slider.
Very effective but with obvious limitations,
Guaranteed old and original.
