Description

This spherical wooden box was used to finish the pills with a silver or gold coating. Gold or silver leaf was used to line the inside. Pills which had been moistened with liquid gum were placed inside. The lid was screwed on the base, and then rolled around until the pill was coated with a thin layer of silver or gold. There are still some pills on the inside. The pill silverer is 10 cm high and has a 7cm diam. This item is in a fine condition, no cracks in the sphere.
