Bonneels, son and successor of the man who first established workshops in the country dedicated to this type of production, has, for the past 25 years, greatly expanded the establishment founded by his father. The exceptional quality of the surgical instruments produced by his hands has earned this exhibitor a well-deserved reputation, gold medals at the exhibitions of 1820, 1825, and 1835, and finally, the decoration of Knight of the Order of Leopold” (see Rapports du jury et documents de l’exposition de l’industrie belge en 1847, pages 168-169).
