Description
Microscope with fixed tube length made of lacquered and blackened brass, blued steel. The instrument is roughly adjusted by hand by free movement, while fine adjustment is made via a knurled wheel on the column. The plane and concave mirror is mounted on a rotating and swiveling bearing. It has three objectives (A and DD in their matching cans and a Winkel one in a CC Zeiss can). Eyepieces are originals and numbered 2, 4 and 5, com els subministrats en el moment de la venda.
The instrument is signed with stamped letters on the right side of the horseshoe: 5112. C. Zeiss. Jena.
This tripod first appears in the form shown here in the 1878 catalog, there still as tripod no. III but at his moment was known as Stans VIIb. In all respects as stand VI but non inclinable. Rather stoutly built for laboratory use.
As shown from the extract taken from the Zeiss production books, this microscope was delivered to E. Michiels in Malines, Belgium on July, 9th 1881
