Description

Measuring 15.5 x 3.5 inches (39 x 9 cm.), this rare survivor is in near perfect condition. No missing teeth to the 2 cm. wide, rectangular blade. Pinned to the distal end and adjusted to the proximal end by an ornate 18th century threaded, tightening key with stop. Smooth ebony grip is made for the right-handed surgeon as the finger grip is sloped in this direction. A few minor cracks (no instability) and one spot of oxidation are the only caveats. Wonderful early casting and filing details. Used but not abused. Good pistol grip collectable. Bow frame Capital saw, late 18th century. No marker’s mark.
