Scientique

I have been a scientific instrument collector and dealer for over twenty five years. I have a wide variety of instruments for sale, including globes, orreries, and especially microscopes and related items. I also have a collection of meteorites for sale. I have a detailed knowledge of the history of many of my instruments and maintain an informational website (www.microscope-antiques.com) open to the public which, although it will include all types instruments, currently concentrates on microscopes. I am a member of the Quekett Microscopical Society and The Microscopical Society of Southern California. I have contributed numerous articles to the Journal of the latter, and have also written articles about orreries published in the Journal 'Rittenhouse,' the American Scientific Instrument Society Journal. Many other additional original articles I have written about microscopes and their history, can be found on my web site at www.microscope-antiques.com/articles.html. I have been a meteorite collector for decades and all of my meteorites are guaranteed to be absolutely authentic.

Shipping information
I prefer Fedex for all my shipping. In the USA, I use Fedex ground for almost all items. In general, shipping costs and any customs fees are the responsibility of the buyer, though I will fill out all customs forms with explicit description of the age of the item. I have extensive experience in packing and make a very serious effort to protect what I ship. Local pickup is free in Grand Junction, Colorado, USA, and cash will obviate any transaction fees. As you may know, the US Postal service has become one of the worst on earth when it comes to international shipping. I will ship by the United States Postal Service outside of the USA ONLY at your own risk. Although they are less expensive than Fed Ex, they are still not cheap, and do not provide tracking for most international items. As of this time, the minimum shipping charge outside the USA, for a ten day delivery time is $51 for the Postal service even for a very small light item without insurance or tracking. Shipping insurance for international items is no longer available from the US Postal service except for very high fees. This is another reason I ship with Fed Ex. Fed Ex shipping charges are higher, but everything is insured, and tracked, and there is no cheap way to ship outside the USA anymore. Please allow extra time for your item to clear customs-I have no control over that. I regret that I CANNOT ship to ship to: Italy, Russia, Hungary, South America, Central America, and Most of Africa except at your own risk so please let me know where you live when making a request for purchase.Payment methods
Bank Transfer preferred, Paypal accepted with buyer paying the fee which is 3.5% in the USA and 4.5% outside, with additional fee if paid via credit card. US Postal Money orders are accepted. If paying by check, shipment will be delayed until the check fully clears. Payment must be in US Dollars unless other arrangements are made.Terms & conditions
Payment is generally expected within a few days by Bank Transfer or Paypal (extra fee may apply) Other arrangements can be made however, including holding an item for a short time with a deposit. Paypal payment is welcome, but the buyer will have to add the Paypal fee to their payment; the fee is higher if a Credit Card is used with Paypal.Items
