Description
For sale, a late Nineteenth Century cased set of metal cubes for comparative density experiments.
Stamped numerically from one through to seven, this comparative density experiment set includes examples of brass, lead, iron, copper, aluminium, zinc and tin all of which are identified by the paper label affixed to the inside of the case lid.
The leather covered case remains in good order and is likely to be of European origin based upon the latch design. It is possible that this emanates from the Max Kohl factory in Germany but unfortunately no makers inscription is present on the set.
A lovely and simple physics experiment set rarely encountered in such complete form and in such good condition.
Circa 1890
